It’s been a hectic week, from server woes across the board on all my sites to finishing up with school. I’m proud to say that I have taken my last final exam of my life. Hopefully I’ll get to enjoy the holidays now and take a load off. All of my sites seem to be performing better now as my host moved them to a new server. It turns out that traffic increased 10-fold over the past month and it did a number on the server they are hosted on. Anyway, we’re back and starting this week the normal posting schedule will continue. Thank you very much for reading Money Socket.

In the mean time, lets check out some insightful articles from other sites.

How much mortgage can you realistically afford? All Financial Matters writes about how much mortgage one can really afford by applying simple tools. Its much better to do your homework before a purchase so you don’t get yourself into a heap of trouble.

Dealing with Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT). Jeremy explains what AMT is and how to determine whether or not you are liable for it. As if taxes weren’t complicated enough. I’m one of those guys who files an extension for the extension form.

Walking the Talk: Saying “No” to Temptation. One of the internet’s biggest personal finance bloggers shares his story about saying no to purchasing a Mini Cooper S after driving it for a few days. I definitely know how JD feels, as one of the passions in my life are cars. Congrats on walking the talk and staying responsible.

Ten Things I hate About Monster.com’s Job Search. The lazy man writes about some of the things that bug him about Monster.com. Take a look if you’ve been meaning to try out Monster.

Debt Reduction Tips from A Debt Free Mommy. You know why I love Millionaire Mommy’s articles? experience. Here are debt reduction tips from a debt free person. Some great advice.

Take Pride in Being Financially Different. I really like this post that Jonathan wrote recently. You have to be able to go against the grain if you want to get ahead of the crowd. Don’t be afraid to take criticism. Keep doing what you know is the right thing to do, and your future self will thank you for it.
